Who we are
This site is run by Shapes and Colours Educational Centre, Collins Dauda Road, Community 18, Tema, Ghana. We are responsible for the personal information described here. To reach us about privacy, use the contact details at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
When you fill in the enquiry form on this site, we ask for your name, phone number, the level you're enquiring about, and an optional message (which may include details about your child). We collect this only to respond to your admissions enquiry.
How the enquiry form works
The enquiry form does not send your information to a server or database we manage. Submitting it opens WhatsApp on your device with your message pre-filled, addressed to the school's WhatsApp number, and you choose whether to actually send it. When you send it, your message is delivered through WhatsApp (owned by Meta), whose own privacy terms then apply. If you email or call us directly instead, that message is handled the same way any personal email or phone call would be.
Photos of students
This site includes group, event, class and graduation photos that may show identifiable students. These are published with the consent of the child's parent or guardian, obtained by the school. Staff are shown by name and title only. If you'd like a photo of your child removed, contact us and we'll take it down.
Third-party services
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when the page loads. If you send an enquiry, it is delivered through WhatsApp (Meta), as described above. We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts of any kind.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device for tracking. We don't need a cookie banner because there is nothing non-essential to consent to.
Children's information
As a crèche-to-JHS school, enquiries often relate to a child. We only use details shared with us to respond to the enquiry and, if enrolment proceeds, to communicate with the parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect information directly from children online.
How long we keep it
Because the enquiry form doesn't store anything on our side, we only hold what you actively send us by WhatsApp, email or phone. We keep those messages for as long as we need them to respond and, if your child enrols, for the period of their enrolment, after which we remove them when they are no longer needed.
Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can ask us to stop using it. Contact us using the details below and we'll help. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
